I love this place. It's a few minutes from my house and I've become a convert from Pita Inn, which I'd drive all the way to Golf Mill for when I had a craving. I've tried the Shawarma and the combination platter, which are excellent. The entree size is a loaded portion and normally becomes two meals for me, which for 10-12 dollars is a good deal. My favorite part about this place is that I can place an order from my phone or computer. If you like middle eastern food, this place is a must try!

Best shawarma and hummus my wife and I have tried. The service was quick and the cooks are on point. We'll definitely be back.

I'm a pita inn lifer as I'm originally in Skokie. That being said, this is pretty delicious. I'm a huge fan of their beef shwarma, portion sizes are huge, and their hummus is delicious. I'm not 100% sold on the thin pita, and price is a bit higher than pita inn. Maybe a commuter lunch special?

This is decent place for Middle Eastern fare. You get a lot here for the dollar - the $12 combination entree (beef shawarma, kefta kabob, and chicken kabob) was very generous and came with a salad and lentil soup. The latter two items were pretty ordinary and brought the overall rating down a bit though. The rest was quite good and tasty, but also not quite 5 star fresh on this day (a place like Naf Naf consistently sets the bar I would say). They have a roomy dining room and have been open here for about 8 months.

Shawarma Inn is a great fast food place, on par with McD. That's really what it is the McD of shawarma. It's a reliable place that you know will always have just above average food. If you are looking for the real deal in terms of middle eastern food I would say go down south to the Bridgeview area.

I am so happy this location opened!! Though I would glad travel further to eat here. Even though they forgot to out include enough bread with my hummus the 5 star review is still rock solid. Service is friendly and the restaurant is an upgrade from their other location (which looks a bit like muffler repair meets taxi dispatch turned restaurant). EVERYTHING is great here, you can just close your eyes, point at a menu item and walk away happy. Ask for extra sauces to make you even happier. Order the lentil soup, you will be SO happy! The beef shrwarma combination is tops! Highly Approved!

First time trying shwarma!! Had the steak shwarma with the garlic sauce.. DELICIOUS! Overall great experience .. They only had one cook during lunch hour which was bizarre.. Took over 30 min to fill my order.. No other complaints .. Yum! I'll be back for sure

My husband and I picked this place based on yelp reviews and we are so happy we gave it a try. The combo plate was a great way to try a little bit of everything. The plate also comes with soup and salad. Lots of food for a really good price. Nice quiet restaurant, great place to come and have a conversation with a friend. Plenty of street parking around 5pm.

Food was good and the delivery time was real quick. Gave one star less as the pita bread came quite cold, which is not what you expect from a Mediterranean restaurant.

Yummy*Healthy* Delicious*Great service! Excellent experience on this blustery day. They could not have been nicer, so glad we finally heard about this place. I am sure we will be regulars. Nice veggie option- do the combo!

Just finished lunch there. I ordered the combination plate, and everything as really good. It comes with a salad, which was plain iceberg, carrots, purple cabbage, and vinegar and oil; I also squeezed some of the lemon on it, since it was there. Then I had the lentil soup, and everyone is right, the soup is outstanding; it came with the super thin pita bread. Then my plate came, it was about 10 minutes between ordering and my meal coming, I had barely started my soup. I pushed the soup aside for a few minutes to try everything on the plate. The kefta was the best I've ever had, it's usually dry and flavorless, this was the opposite. The chicken kabob was cooke perfectly, and seasons really well; delicious. The shawarma was also among the best I've had. Someone mentioned that the rice was bland, but, it's rice, cooked with a little saffron, what did you expect? The rice was cooked really well, and tasted like rice, nothing wrong there. I even had leftover pita, so I made a couple wraps, and added some of their tahini or hot sauce, both were really good, I really like hot sauces, and theirs was a great compliment to the meal. It was lunch time, so I took about half of it home, because, otherwise, I would just have to nap the rest of the afternoon, and I have work to do. The inside wasn't spectacular, but it was decent, and clean. When I got there, there was a group of 6 that walked in just before me, and 2 other people off in the corner. I was a little concerned, but by the time I left, a group of 12 came in, and two other twosomes. Not only would I go back, I will go back, and I plan on bringing people next time.

You know how some people say stuff like "I could eat pizza every day..." or " I could eat sushi and chipotle every day..." etc. Well I can honestly say I can eat Shawarma Inn every....single... day! Everyday if I could. My waist line would hate me but the rice and garlic tahini sauce is so worth it. I have to admit I've only ever ordered the Combination plate from here, however I vary from choosing the chicken kebabs to the beef ones depending on mood- I know, its wild. What's great about the combo is you pretty much get a little of every meat. The entrees also come with soup (I recommend lentil) and salad and very affordable - under $15. Portions are huge and 9 out of 10 times I usually have left overs for lunch. This place has been here for a year or two now and I am very happy to have such delicious middle eastern cuisine so close to my neighborhood. I am getting hungry now after looking at photos. ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!!

First time here with my Mother..... Used my Yelp check in to get the free Hummus app and ordered Fatoush Salad... The interior of the restaurant is outdated and has no character.... It was alarming that we got there during the lunch rush and only one table was occupied... Never a good sign... Still decided to give them a shot... Ordered three sandwiches... Beef Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma, and Kabob sandwiches.... Hummus was good and Fatoush salad needed some table side adjustments... More oil, vinegar, and lemon... The meat quality was surprisingly good and it tasted good. The sandwich was too wet, bread falling apart... They did not drain the pickle juice before putting it in the sandwich.... Poorly managed place... The cook is also the Manager / Owner... Spent most of his time arguing with the waitress and going back and forth in Assyrian yelling at each other... Overwhelmed with no experience... A few good items on the menu probably Mom's recipe from back home, but definitely not a recommended place from me....

I'll list the pros and cons of this restaurant in the order of my experience. Pro: 2 hours of free parking in front of the building. Pro or con depending on the customer: Choose where you want to sit (I preferred this) Pro: Cute table cloths, clean glasses and utensils and delicious, clear water. I have issues with water that tastes and smells chlorinated. This water was clean. Pro and con: Bathroom smelled freshly cleaned but heavily bleached. Two stalls with only one operating. The other had a note to hold down the handle to flush properly so there is clearly a plumbing problem. There was a ton of food at my table when I returned from washing my hands. The hummus was literally the best I've ever tasted. There were small chunks of fresh tomato in the middle which I loved as well as the spices (maybe paprika). There was an ample amount of pita bread, it was thin, tasty and fresh. There was a salad with oil and vinegar and a lemon wedge (I love a lemon with my salad). My hot lentil soup was waiting for me too. It was mostly delicious except for the iceberg salad. My entree was absolutely out of this world delicious! The shrimp came with the most delicious garlic and herb sauce and the rice was perfection. The only beef I have about this is that the menu said 8 shrimp and I received 6. Dang! I really wanted the other two. This is part of the 4 stars rating. They could also do a better jobs with refilling drinks. My tea was delicious and strong and I wanted more to wash down my meal but I had to flag her down to get it. I will most certainly return and ask about how many shrimp my meal comes with .

  • Nancy P.

Amazinggggg. I ordered the beef shawarma and it might've been the best I've ever had. Also, the portions are humongous. I had enough food for three total meals. The salad that comes with the plate is really basic and generic- I didn't care for it. I can't wait to try the chicken shawarma next time!

  • Anjanette M.

Huge portions & even upon arrival of our delivery it was piping hot! Oh my gosh this was so tasty. Would eat here again if I'm back in town. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Huge pieces of pita bread and the hummus is smooth and amazing.

This is what makes Yelp so awesome. There is a real chance that you're going to have an awesome, unexpected experience. I'd have never found this place on my own, but I'm so glad I came in. Huge portions of delicate meat, soft rice, and wonderful bread await you here. Every aspect of the meal is flavorful and satisfying. I went with the chicken kabob, which included at least a half pound of rice and probably three quarters of a pound of chicken. Both were absolutely wonderful! On top of all this they have a terrific salad, white bean soup, and some wonderful wonderful hommous. The service is attentive and very friendly. On top of all this I got out the door for less than $15. Highly recommended, hope to come back someday.

My first to go dinner lasted me until lunch the next day... Today's lunch combination will be good for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow... Seriously. They give a ton of food.

Shawarma is bland and greasy, and the guy behind the counter isn't very friendly. It's edible, but I wouldn't recommend it. Many other better options in the area such as Bab Al Salam.

  • Sheryl T.

Outstanding!!!! I'm thrilled to have a go to spot for authentic Mediterranean food besides Pita Inn. Started out with the lentil soup which was flavorful. We got the vegetarian combo plate as our appetizer. The baba ghanoush was so creamy and smoky. I could've eaten a whole tub of it! For my main, I got the combo plate which came with kefta, steak shish kabob and beef shawarma. The plate comes with a generous heaping of rice. The kefta was seasoned perfectly- not too salty. Shish kabob blew me away. Cooked just right and melted in my mouth. I wasn't too impressed with the beef shawarma as I found it to be on the dry side. One tip: ask for their homemade sauces. You're going to fantasize about their green sauce for days!!!!!!! Another added bonus is it's BYOB.

  • Myra M.

Wonderful service. Delicious shawarma. What more could you want? Make sure to ask for their cucumber sauce. It makes the chicken shawarma sandwich absolute perfection.

The delivery was fast and the delivery person was very polite. The food was terrific. I had the chicken kabob and my husband had the lamb shank. We were very pleased with everything. I'm strongly recommend this restaurant!

Great place!!! This is a fresher version of pita inn and they serve Zabiha halal meat. Service was great Portions were big Must haves @ shawarma inn: Lentil Soup Hummus Baba Ghanouj Falafel Beef Shawarma Kefta kabob was ok, it needed more seasoning. Shish kabob was good Garlic sauce is the best I have ever had in Chicago Hot sauce is fresh! Tahini simply great!!! Will come back again

Pretty solid food for the price. Entree, soup and salad for $10. Service was good at lunch, and everything we ate was well received. Would go again if in the area.

An excellent choice if you've got a craving for shawarma or kabobs. For that matter, it's an excellent choice if you just want a good meal, period. I ordered the combination plate, which comes with Kefta Kabob, shawarma, and your choice of either Shish Kabob (my choice) or Chicken Kabob. The meat was tender and bursting with flavor. Given how well the meat is prepared, it's no surprise that the shawarma sandwich, which we also ordered, was excellent. The falafel were pretty big and certainly delicious - a perfect combination. The hummus, which we got for free for checking in on Yelp, was also fantastic. The great service we received put the cherry on top of a delicious meal. Make sure to stop by Shawarma Inn!

Ordered for delivery at my workplace for myself and a number of co-workers. The food came pretty quickly considering how large the order was. I had a coupon to order, so my food was somewhat discounted. Unfortunately, they ended up forgetting one of the items that I had ordered, but it was a fairly large order and it would have been free anyway, so I opted not to comment. If it happens again then I will. I actually placed the order online so I can't comment on much of the customer service, other than that the delivery person was friendly, and prompt. As for the food itself, that was definitely the selling point that will have me ordering more (or perhaps stopping by in person some time soon). I ordered a "small" hummus, a chicken shawarma and a cup of lentil soup. Regarding the hummus, I only put "small" in quotes because it was well more than I as one person could eat, and they gave me a huge pile of pita bread to eat it with. It realistically could have fed 2-3 people easily, so I ended up saving some for later. It tasted fantastic, was well seasoned and had a great texture to it. Basically all I can say is, mmmm... hummus. The chicken shawarma was extremely tasty as well. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. I wish that it had a little bit more tahini in it for my tastes, but it didn't detract from the quality in any significant way. They also give you side sauces, so I easily could have remedied this on my own. The lentil soup was my least favorite part of the meal. It was good, but for me it lacked salt or maybe some other seasoning to give a little more flavor. Compared to other places I have had lentil soup, this one was the weakest tasting. Overall it was a great experience and if you work or live nearby and want delivery, they don't charge. There is a minimum of 15 dollars to deliver though, so either be very hungry or have a group to order with. If I ever stop in, I will update the review with more information about the restaurant itself. Happy eating!

Oh so much food! I was not in the mood to cook dinner on a Friday night, so we decided to try this place for take out. We ordered falafel, the combination plate (which came with the stew of the day), and some lentil soup for my husband and I to share. We also got tons of pita bread. It was way more than enough food. The falafel had grave flavors, but I think ours were a little overdone. The soups were both delicious, although I preferred the bean stew. It had more of a kick. The lentil soup was a little thinner than I expected, but still tasty. The star of the show was the combination plate. With 3 different kinds of meat, rice, salad, and pickled vegetables, we ate until our stomachs were full and had quite a bit left over for lunch the next day. The meats were all tender and juicy. My favorite sauce was the garlic. Others warned that we would have to ask for sauces to be included in our to go order, but we forgot to ask and still got 3 different sauces. Next time, we'll have to try dining in. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

In answer to a question posed to me about the Shawarma Inn: Park Ridge, no, it's not a buffet. Two page simple menu. I've since had lamb kelaya and combination plates and everything here is good. Would bring out-of-town guests here. Also likely good for groups as there is enough seating. Parking is sometimes an issue, but we can normally find it across the street.

I have been here 5 times now. Ordered to go for 4 times and ate in once. Great food, not greasy, smells and tastes amazing. The sauces are yummy. I just wish they would give you more when you order to go. Even if I ask for extra they are a little stingy. However, when you eat there you get a whole bottle of each sauce to use. Everyone is really nice who works there. I recommend it to everyone craving middle eastern food. I get a side of falafel, hummus, combination plate to share with someone else. We usually get 4-5 meals out of this. It's a lot of food.

Wow! What an amazing and authentic culinary adventure! 4.5 stars should be 5! First of all, we had a fabulous window table over looking Devon Avenue in Park Ridge, a very upscale Chicago neighborhood. Next, the service was impeccable. Our server, Sondre, went above and beyond, and brought us what we wanted before we even knew to order it! This was all great, but the food was the star of the day. This is a family owned place, with recipes handed down over generations, and the whole extended family has helped craft the menu. I've eaten in restaurants in many cities of the middle east, and this experience did not dissappoint. The hummus was made fresh in house, with chick peas and tahini, and of course high quality imported olive oil from the region. The kitchen was an open design, so we could see the multiple shawarma ovens slowly searing the delicate beef and chicken skewers. The koefte was as good as the best I've had, even in Istanbul. I ordered the Lamb Shank, and it was beautiful, tender, and delicious. Fresh pita and cucumber sauce was on point. Even my less adventurous coworkers were thrilled with the food. All this awesome food with entree prices around $12! The only downside was that we had hoped for belly dancers, but there were none working today. Next time I hope!

Open 24 hours. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and the portions were more than I could eat. I'll come back again for sure!

What a hidden little gem. Feeling like something a bit different we opted to try this place. We ordered a number of things and got SO much food!! And it was delicious. We got the combination plate and took a taste of all the sauces too. Everything was delightful. Best value was the chicken wrap. It was huge. We will be back to this one!

Had lunch here a couple times during my last business trip. Solid Mediterranean food with some healthier options. I had the Shawarma chicken sandwich which was great. Chicken was nicely seasoned and not too dry. My friend really liked the hummus here but I felt it was just so so. Servers are very friendly. If I'm in the neighborhood again I would definitely go back.

My wife called the wrong restaurant when she ordered and they were very nice and accommodating. We ordered the shawarma chicken, chicken kabob and shish kabob. All were great. Delicious saffron rice and nann as well. Would order anytime. Happy to find this gem in an oasis of good Restaurants.

The only reason I discovered this place was because I had an Entertainment coupon and it is so close to work. I am pleased I discovered it. The combo plate was delicious fresh and a massive portion. I was able to get my next day lunch out of it. Which always makes for a good value in my book. The decor is nothing to write home about but te service was excellent and she she very straightforward and direct when we asked her for recommendations and she was very attentive.

  • Roman K.

Nothing special. The shawarma chicken sandwich is just a rotisserie chicken with garlic sauce. Nothing middle eastern about it. The pita was not fresh and chicken was bland. I ordered an extra pita and it comes sliced up. A pita is supposed to be hallow so that you can stuff it. Pita Inn has them beat by a mile.

  • Ron C.

Holy, mole! Shawarma Inn is a diners paradise! As others have said, this little place has it going on! Great food, great portions, no long waiting for food, priced right, and delivered with a smile! I got out of here after eating the Steak Shawarma paying less than 20 clams (dollars)! Amazing, considering the amount of food. The only downside is that I ran out of the place and forgot my left-overs! Darn!

  • AJ M.

Heard this is a brand new spot, and Mediterranean food being one of my faves i had to try this out. The meat here is pretty good, so is the rice. The combo plate which is around 13$ is a good bet to try alot of food, good enough for 2. Sandwiches are great as well. One thing that i like is they are not cheap on the pita, or the thin tortilla flat bread that is supposed to be pita. But what they do seem to shorthand you on is the sauces. Places like these are known for their sauces, and in two visits for take out i have yet to get any. Maybe I must ask specifically for it, maybe its for dine inn only? Whatever the case is now i know i must be more discrete. Despite that, the food is pretty good.

I gave this place a couple of chances and every chance it was either the order was incorrect or way too salty. I would not recommend this place. If I rate this zero stars I would!

  • Lizi C.

Nice family run restaurant. Ordered chicken shawarma which was good. Tried a bite of the beef dish (not sure what it was called) and thought it was a little tastier. The soup was excellent. Serving sizes are generous.

    (4)

Solid food The lentil soup and combo meat platters were good The hummus was also very good. Definitely worth checking this place out. The kefta kebab was probably my favorite, as it usually is elsewhere

  • Lauren D.

We ordered two appetizers: The six piece falafel which was served with pita bread ($6) and the three piece chicken burak (choice of either chicken or beef) which was excellent. The falafel was a bit bland, but we dipped it in garlic sauce and it seemed to work for us. We also tried the chicken kalaia which contained onions, green peppers, mushroom and tomatoes and served with their "stew of the day," plus, pita bread, salad and rice. The salad was refreshing and the dressing was light and flavorful. The chicken kalaia receives 4-2/3 stars. I don't recommend ordering appetizers, because the portions are generous. Skip the appetizers unless you plan to "split" one entree. The beef shawarma was thinly sliced sirloin beef and cooked rotisserie style. It was incredibly tender and lightly seasoned. It also came with salad, pita bread and the "stew of the day" which was oh so delectable. This dish receives 4-1/2 stars. One of our entrees was $10 while another was $12. Our total came to $33 (excluding tax and tip). Portions are definitely generous, so we will skip the appetizers the next time we come for dinner. There have been many other restaurants in this exact location. Prior to the Shawarma Inn it was an Indian restaurant. Restaurants do not last very long in this location. This is a very dead-end, semi-deserted and boring location of Park Ridge. There isn't much else around here except a Walgreen's, Boston Market and an out-of-business Morningfield's grocery/bakery shop. This restaurant is a few blocks west of Talcott and several blocks east of Cumberland Avenue. It is across the street from the Morningfield's which is now officially closed. We will definitely return for Lunch (instead of dinner). They also serve breakfast here (not sure what though). They have a fairly good selection of sandwiches, at lunch time, for only $5 -- a very good deal. Punch up the flavor of your meal by requesting their home-made garlic sauce. There's a small charge for the sauce. Middle Eastern cooking traditionally uses an array of spices. This truly gives the cuisine the exotic flavors and smells that we enjoyed at this place. Some of the more commonly used spices range from staples like cumin, coriander, turmeric and mint to exotic blends like Ras el Hanout and Za'atar. Everything that we had was very, very good. If you enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine and crave it once in a while (or often), this is a great place to patronize.

Found this place on yelp as I am passing by Chicago. Karlen helped us from the get go. First the food is halal. We were a party of 5 and we ordered salmon, beef , chicken and lamb. The food was excellent along with the hummus and baba ghanouj. Lentil soup was out of this world Thank you for the good experience

This place was not exactly how I expected it to be. It's called Shawrma inn, you would think the Shawrma is the best in town.. well.. It wasn't. I only got the chicken, it was dry and not seasoned well or at all.. Unfortunately The humus was typical. The lentil soup was very good, so was the salad. The waitresses were very nice and the service was quick. owners weren't very professional, bunch of Assyrian thugs. I must say I did enjoy the tea! I would go back for that. The place has potential. I might have to go back again and try some of their other dishes next time. everyone deserves a 2nd chance.

Very good food. Very generous portions. My wife and I both got the combination entrées. She got it with chicken kabobs, I got it with beef, both were good but I think the chicken were slightly better. People working here were very friendly. Liked the white bean soup better than the lentil which was slightly cold. Seemed a little under staffed, only one waitress working and she seamed overwhelmed. Lost one star because we waited over a half hour to get our bill. We saw a lot of people order to go, now I know why, they need to hire another waitress.

There are 3 things a restaurant should have which are; good service, good food, a clean place, and this has all three. Shawarma inn has the best middle eastern food hands down. I go with the beef shawarma sandwich with a side of falafals. There definitely needs to be more locations. The people here are friendly and get the job done. This is a must try.

If you want amazing and authentic Middle Eastern this is the spot. I was impressed in every way, the food was so flavorful and cooked just right. I'm a huge fan of chicken shawarma and this place, hands down has the best chicken shawarma! The shish kabobs was tender and full of flavor with a perfect amount of char in the outside. I recommend my usual, the three way, it comes with rice and your choice of any 3 meats, it's A LOT of food. The hummus is a great appetizer to start off with and their lentil soup is incredible. The service here was awesome, they were on top of everything and very friendly. We had a child with us and they were very caring and made sure they helped in every way. I highly recommend this place, you'll be hooked!

I love Shawarma Inn! The food is always delicious and flavorful and the staff is very friendly. The soups (lentil and white bean) are both exceptional. I've had the veggie combo plate and the Lamb Kalaia several times and enjoy them as well. Prices are very reasonable and you get a LOT of food. The one time I ordered pick up I had to wait for a while but part of my meal was comped and they were very apologetic about it. Would highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner and don't forget that it is BYOB!

Awesome food, and great customer service. Very happy this opened up in park ridge, def a great addition. If you enjoy middle-eastern food, this is the place to be. You can tell they use quality ingredients, as well as their oils in which they cook in. Combination plate is my favorite dish, followed by most of their kabobs. Try it out, and you won't regret it. PLUS THEY DELIVER! Perfect for anyone on the go.

So amazing. The entrees come with so much food--soup and a salad! The hummus was delicious as well. The service was fast and lovely. I am so sad I have not been able to find any place like this closer to my home in MPLS!

Walked in and taken to table. Water served a minute later. 10 minutes after looking at the menu, no staff has come back to check on us. Another group of people walked in and immediately served. Waited another 5 minutes and still no service so we just walked out. Poor service.

By far this is the best authentic Middle Eastern food I've ever had! Staff was super friendly & awesome! The lentil soup was so comforting! Very delicious. I came with my best friend & we got a vegetarian combo & the meat combo. Both are incredibly full of flavor & just a nice getaway for your taste buds. The sauces are fantastic as well! I really fell in love with the garlic sauce! It's quite addicting! Definitely recommend this place!!! I'll be coming quite more often :-)

Quick Breakdown (Bullet point style!!!) Cons: - They ran out of Hummus - They would not honor my yelp-check-in offer of free hummus in a like kind exchange for anything other than baba ganoush - When we walked in, the entire staff was hanging around the FoH, including the BoH staff. Obviously it's a family restaurant and it was a slow night, but it was a bit unprofessional. - They were out of the beef roll appetizer which we wanted to try. Pros: - The food was pretty darn tasty- good enough to make up for most of the other points. I only hope to see these guys improve and do hope that our next visit is even better!

The service was TERRIBLE. The last couple of experiences I ordered the beef wrap and all the meat was so BURNT. Then the next time I got a chicken and steak kabob and the chicken was completely chard so I couldn't eat it and the steak was too SALTY and then the last experience I ordered the lamb with green peppers and onions and tomatoes and mushrooms and asked for no tomatoes and there was no tomatoes which that was good but the mushrooms were all burnt and the one green pepper and a couple onions WOW I AM NOT GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN

I am so happy to have a restaurant such as this establishment nearby (considering this area of town is lacking good restaurants). The service is fast, friendly and they go the extra mile for their customers. I was extremely happy when they gave my boyfriend and I extra torshi and their unique garlic sauce to take home. That sauce is good on just about anything from your shawarma to pita bread. Everything I have tried thus far has been delicious. Prices and portions are great too. Anyone who likes or wants to try this type of ethnic food, must try this place.

We came by here right after getting out of O'Hare as we were craving halal food and Devon ave was a bit too far. The food was delicious and the service was great! We had the lunch special wraps which were kind of small but still filling. The salad was really good as well. i would definitely stop by again if I was in the area.

Next time I'll get carry-out Dined here for the first time this weekend and was very satisfied with the food, but the service was not very good. The restaurant was probably half full and there were probably 4 or 5 people waiting for carryout orders. We had a small order of hummus, an entree of kefta kabob, and an entree of a lamb stew. Each entree came with salad and soup. Our server brought the hummus, soup, and salad all at once and then we waited about a half hour for our entrees. We had ordered one white bean soup and one lentil, but got two lentil soups. We tried to let the server know, but she had disappeared. The lentil soup was really good and so wasn't worth making a fuss about as we both enjoyed it. My husband tried several times to get our server's attention to ask for some pita and for the home-made sauces, but our server was not easy to catch. The entrees were very good and the portions are generous. When it came time for the bill the restaurant had cleared out a bit and so we were able to take care of that right away. Sitting in the restaurant really doesn't add to the dining experience as decorations are minimal and mostly left over from the last restaurant to occupy this space. We will definitely order carryout from this restaurant again, but doubt that we'll dine-in again given the not-so-great service. The cost per person with tax and tip was about $17. My recommendation is to order for pick-up or delivery and enjoy in the comfort of your own home.

I'm really glad to have this place close by now. That stretch of Devon has been a food desert since I moved here four years ago. The food is delicious, and the portions are quite generous, certainly enough to expect that there will be leftovers the next day. I had the kabob combo and it came with both a soup and salad. The soup was lentil, and I expected that my wife would be eating it, but surprisingly enough, it was much different than the other lentils I've tried and not liked. This one was a keeper. The family that runs the place is great. The service is superb, and the two ladies who served us were quite friendly. We enjoyed conversing with them when they stopped by throughout our meal. Whether you dine in or carry out, this is a tremendous value, and it's a great addition to Park Ridge.

This is the best Arabic combination in the whole Chicagoland area. For the price taste and amount of food they give the customers is unreal. No other place can compare except pita puff Elgin. This place is truly a diamond in the rough.

GARLIC SAUCE. That is one of the reasons I come here...for their signature sauce. Can you believe it? It's amazing. What if I told you it was free? Yep. That's right. No charge for this spectacular sauce. I usually get the garlic sauce with my Chicken Shawarma Wrap (that costs extra). Sometimes I get the garlic sauce on my Chicken Shawarma Entree. (also costs extra) The entree comes with a lentil soup. Now I don't even like lentil soup, but every time I come here I find myself staring at an empty soup bowl. I eat all the soup...all the time. Why? Because their lentil soup is effing delicious. That's why. Their Lamb Shank is also really good. Tender. Fallin' off the bone. It comes with rice. Guess what I like to throw on the rice? Yep...more garlic sauce. Service is good. Food comes out fast. I wish it were open 24/7 like their original location. On the plus side, this location seats way more people. Great alternative to Pita Inn or Naf Naf.

Delicious and authentic middle eastern food. The shawarma and chicken shawarma are excellent and especially with their homemade tahini sauce. The vegetarian options are delicious as well. I usually eat a lot of falafel hummos and baba ghanouj during lent. Otherwise I usually get the combo with shawarma and kefta kabob. It's always tender and deliciously seasoned and comes with lentil soup and salad. An amazing addition to this neighborhood!!

Wow, came here Friday night and was pleasantly blown away! Everything was tasty and fresh. The sauces on the side were great as well. Had the combination plate and loved it. All the meats were cooked perfectly - great spice and plenty of juice. The vegetable side was even awesome! The staff were extremely friendly and happy to help. Delivery is free in the area - will be back again for sure!! Thanks for the great food!!

We love love love this place. Whenever we're in Chicago it's a must eat for us. Very friendly, attentive staff. Most delicious Middle Eastern food that even picky eaters like myself will love. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the prices are great too. I don't think you could go wrong with this place.

This place is a new location. The food is excellent middle eastern cuisine! I've tried the combination plate, lentil soup, falafel appetizers and been completely satisfied. The service is quite slow because they are understaffed and can't keep up with the demand. They are friendly which helps. The decor is ok and is clean looking. My advice is to not come by if in a hurry, otherwise, it's good food! I give it 8.5 falafel balls out of 10.

This place is great!! After months of driving by this place, my husband and I decided to try it out yesterday. We absolutely loved it; the food was delicious. Everything tasted very fresh and authentic. The staff was also really friendly and the prices are reasonable for such great quality food. I work right down the street, so I am excited to have found such a great new place for lunch or dinner! I will definitely be back very soon!

I love middle eastern food! And was excited to see shawarma inn open so near by! I ordered some take out and was happy with it. The falafel order was huge! I'm used to getting smaller sizes of falafel but these were big! And that's not a bad thing! They would he better suited for 2 people. The chicken shawarma was so fresh, but I could have used more tahini to go with it. The green salad was fine, but not necessary. Everything tasted authentic, and the servers when I was picking up my food were very nice and accommodating when I asked for more sauce. I would like to try eating there first since take out is never the same as eating in. I will definitely go back and am super excited they also deliver!!!

Most of the reviews about this place are pretty on point. It's what brought me into the place to begin with and I'm glad I did! I'll make some comparisons to Pita Inn, which I have been frequenting since I was a kid! My review is based on the following: -Chicken kabob sandwich: can use more sauce/flavor inside the sandwich -Beef kabob sandwich: can use more sauce/flavor inside the sandwich -Chicken kabob entree: chicken, rice (not as greasy as Pita Inn) it was all good -Hummus: good, I guess I'd order again if I was craving hummus. Could use less oil. The entrees come with the soup of the day, rice, pita bread, and some salad, it's all pretty good. Their lentil soup could use a little more salt and this is coming from someone who hardly puts salt in my food. Also had the white bean soup and that was more flavorful, but both were good. All the meat is very well cooked and they cook it after you order so it takes some time, which I don't mind because then I know it hasn't been sitting around. Both the chicken and beef were both very tender and juicy, really enjoyed them more than the meat at Pita Inn. My husband also mentioned that the meat was a lot more fresh than Pita Inn. They give plenty of pita bread to go with the food and hummus. They do have three different sauces they offer, all of which are pretty decent, but I'd say it's very hard to beat the spicy sauce at Pita Inn. Staff was very friendly and I hope they stay that way. I'll be back if I'm ever in the area! Next time I will just tell them to add some more spice to my food!

Thanks to fellow Yelpers my fiance and I gave this place a try on the way to a concert at the Allstate. Wow did we love it! Good service, really good food (and huge portions), at a rock bottom price. My Chicken Shawarma entree was $12. I got a salad, soup, pita bread, a pile high plate full of rice, and a huge portion of delicious chicken. Where on earth could you go to get deal? More importantly, the food was delicious. The fiance went with the Veggie combo plate. Another delicious choice for only $8. I used to work in the area and I know that good restaurants are few and far between. I hope the residents nearby will support this place so that when I come through again I can enjoy another delicious meal for two, at the price of $20! Oh yea, and it's BYOB! Seriously... you can't go wrong with this place.

I ate there last night for the first time. Excellent food. Waitresses were a bit overworked and took too long to bring what we ordered, but very pleasant and threw in some freebies when they got our order wrong. I got the vegetarian platter and the falafel was outstanding - I wish I had more! I agree with other reviews that the garlic sauce is delicious. Be sure to ask for sauces, as they didn't bring them until we did (there's a tahini sauce, garlic sauce and hot sauce). I also got the lentil soup, which was excellent. I had baklava for dessert and only wish the serving size was bigger. I'd go back there anytime. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The only thing we didn't like was when they turned the music up to "loud" about half way through our meal.

This place is AWESOME! I ate with my grandma, aunt, & cousin. We ordered falafel which was so crunchy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. Also hummus with pita which was also yummy, combo plate with 3 different beefed, grilled chicken, & rice. Also catfish with rice. It was all hot & juicy! Rice was soooo good too! Finally dessert, baklava was awesome because it wasn't overly sweetened but light & crispy. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! IT'S HEAVEN!

I'm seriously blown away by this place. I was in the area for a long hair apt and wanted a quick lunch to be delivered to the salon. Yelped this place and they delivered within 45 minutes quite a feast. I ordered a chicken shawarma platter and small hummus. This meal could easily feed two people. The $10 chicken shawarma platter came with a side salad, marinated spicy side of veggies and a lentil soup. Very generous portion and everything was hot and delicious. Thank you!!!

We went there for lunch on Saturday and the place looked empty however a few people walked in after us. Later on, we discovered that they delivered as the delivery guy was walking out with multiple orders (perhaps the reason the place was not packed). We received excellent service and the food was amazing, especially their garlic sauce ( I could drink that). I had the combination plate and my bf had the Lamb Shank, we also shared a Baba Ghannouj. Delish! We'll be back!

I am glad to see a Mediterranean restaurant open in this area. The lentil soup had the perfect consistency and great flavor. I asked them to create a chicken shawarma fatoush salad and I was gladly accommodated.

I've been able to get to Shawarma Inn twice now and both times I haven't left disappointed. The Iraqi/Middle Eastern food is excellent and comes tremendous quantities which makes it an excellent value for the money. The soup I had was amazing and I've had both the Steak and Chicken Shish Kabob entrees. Both are phenomenal and expect to take food home. Decor has a bit of a diner feel to it but the service was very friendly and responsive. I highly recommend it.

Went back last night and this place just doesnt dissapoint. Last time i went i didnt get the sauces they usually serve. I was sure to ask for them this time and i will never forget again. They sinply made the meal. Spicy, garlicy, and not sure of the other but they are great. Every bite gives you a different flavor.

First time to this restaurant which I picked largely due to what others on YELP had to say. They were right! Few people were there when I arrived but that wasn't indicative of the food or service. Both of which we're excellent. Combo plate was well prepared and came with a very tasty lentil soup and fresh, cold salad garnished with a huge slice of lemon. I also received a complimentary plate of humus which was plated with care and likewise garnished with a huge lemon wedge. The service this night (tues) was handled by just 1 server but she took care of each table and provided very solid menu guidance in a very polite and smiling manner. The restaurant inside is fairly sparse but comfortable. Don't miss trying this restaurant. It's food is excellent and a very good value. When in town I'll be back with others.

This is a great place for quality, portions, and value , especially for uncultured and overpriced Park Ridge. I have lived and dined in Park Ridge my whole life and none of the eating establishments do more than have an illegal warm something up for you. This place does lots of things from scratch and has good quality bread, lamb shanks at only $12, great kebobs, and real middle eastern soup that is seasoned the way it is done over there. Even a lite salad is given with every meal. The portions are very big with a lot of meat and a half a plate of yellow rice. Refills and customer service is good. I highly recommend this place and forget Pita Inn which is too noisy and crowded with all of those cheap people asking for special requests and extras. This place is far quieter and better for an extra buck. This place and the Park Ridge post office are the only two places I support in this town. Long live Shawarma Inn.

Food is really good, but the service takes forever! The waitresses neglect the table and the food from the kitchen doesn't come out at the same time for your whole table. I've been here multiple times and it's always the same no matter how busy it is. Get it to go and don't dine in.

This place gets 4 stars for the outstanding food and an extra one for the incredibly friendly staff. I've been a couple times and feel like they already know me and go the extra step to make it feel warm and welcoming. So glad it's in the neighborhood, I wish them the best of luck.

1st visit here tonight with my wife for dinner. Wow what a great place and value. Most dinners $12 and under and what a spread. Clean as could be and the food fantastic. I had the Lamb Shank and it was one of the best I've ever had. Salad fresh and lentil soup out of this world. We will make it a regular haunt and let our friends know.

I'd give it 5 stars but both times the service was off. The first time my husband and I ended up asking other waitsatff, anyone walking by, for a refill on our water - the tea we asked for was never delivered and we'd just loaded up on the hot sauce and were dying for water! The second time I brought a table of 6 and again the waitstaff was rarely at our table, our food come out in 3 rounds with long periods in between. You either waited to be polite but ate cold food, or (as with my kids), ate and were finished before other guests of our party even received their meal. We had to flag down someone twice (first was ignored I guess) for silverware once we finally got our meal. She did cut us a deal on our bill so I'm going to roll the dice and try again - this place is really close to our house, the food is awesome and it's an amazing deal. Hoping the service catches up to the food! Or we'll start getting carry out, which I saw a decent amount of. Either way, we win :)
